About The Law Office of Hunter L. Windham – Personal Injury Lawyer Charleston, SC

A Personal Approach to the Practice of Law

At The Law Office of Hunter L. Windham, LLC, I take the practice of law personal. I grew up just outside a small town, Aynor, South Carolina, and I was raised by two high-school teachers who instilled in me the values of hard work, integrity, and justice. Those values have guided me throughout my entire life, including my education and legal career, and now in building a law firm committed to helping people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I opened my law firm to help individuals when they don’t know what to do or where to turn, and they think they have a problem that may require a lawyer’s help.

Academic and Athletic Dedication

After leaving my hometown, I went to Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where I  double-majored in Government and Economics and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. While at Wofford, I walked on to the football team as a freshman and eventually earned a scholarship and starting position as a running back by my junior year. In my senior season, we made it to the quarterfinals of the FCS national playoffs, falling only after a double-overtime battle. I was proud to be named to the Southern Conference All-Academic Team for three years; to be inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, one of the highest honors for academic achievement in the liberal arts and sciences; and to graduate Summa Cum Laude.

Legal Training and Experience

I attended The University of Alabama School of Law in Tuscaloosa, where I was a member of the Alabama Law Review and took part in the John A. Campbell Moot Court Competition, where my partner and I earned the award for Best Respondent’s Brief and placed as runners-up in the Oral Argument competition. During my time in Tuscaloosa, I never missed a home football game and even had the chance to witness the Crimson Tide win a national championship.

Following law school, I had the honor of clerking for The Honorable Marvin A. Quattlebaum, Jr. on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, which is an appellate court that sits just below the United States Supreme Court. This experience gave me insight into the inner workings of one of the highest courts in the country. I was able to further sharpen my legal analysis and writing skills and gain invaluable knowledge.

A Broad Range of Legal Work

Over the years, I’ve handled a wide variety of cases—large and small. I’ve worked with everyday individuals who had never needed a lawyer before, as well as with major corporations, including Fortune 500 companies with teams of in-house counsel. I’ve represented plaintiffs and defendants alike, and I’ve seen cases through every stage—from the first consultation to trial and appeal.

I’ve also worked at some of the most respected law firms in South Carolina. I chose to open my own law practice because I wanted to provide more personalized legal services. I wanted to be able to listen to each client’s story and focus on helping people, not serving the interests of large companies or insurers.

Why I Practice Law

I’m the first lawyer in my family. I became a lawyer because I wanted to help people, and I’ve seen how difficult it can be for people to navigate the legal system when they’ve been hurt, wronged, or taken advantage of. I wanted to be someone who could stand beside people when they feel alone and fight for them when it matters most.

If you’re facing a legal issue—especially one that involves an injury or loss through no fault of your own—chances are you’re under stress, unsure of your options, and dealing with one of the hardest times in your life. I want to hear what you’re going through and see if I can help.

At The Law Office of Hunter L. Windham, LLC, you’re not just another case—you’re a person who deserves to be heard, respected, and represented with care.
